MINIMALISM

A few well-crafted things go a long way. Minimalism isn’t just an aesthetic, it’s a low-intervention philosophy. It’s a process of reducing excess to create more freedom, and gain more of what matters: living. Wearing a beautiful thing starts a relationship with it, and the age and character it develops is the mark of a life well-lived. Taka items are tools for you to live a good life full of intimacy. We believe intimacy drives us all.

MADE BY HAND

Artisan craftsmanship is made by hands, and that is irreplaceable. It’s a skilled, hands-on craft that requires time, practice and expertise. You must know your materials, understand the value of each step and be committed to create in a time-consuming way that modern industry has dismissed. Artisan work values quality and longevity over scale and speed. We thrive on the idiosyncrasies of the handmade and the fact that no two items can even be truly identical.

MATERIALS

Taka believes noble materials are ones that create a collateral positive impact. Knowing a craft means responsibility for all the moving parts, and the interconnectedness of making things. Everything will eventually biodegrade, but being bio-compatible means it doesn’t contaminate. We think this is an important differentiator.
